Swedish Americana Duo Thyra & Magnolia Road to Perform on Sweden’s Iconic TV Show Bingolotto

Swedish Americana duo Thyra & Magnolia Road will appear as featured musical guests on Sweden’s long-running national television phenomenon Bingolotto, broadcast on national network TV4.

For audiences outside Scandinavia, Bingolotto is far more than a traditional bingo show. Since launching nationwide in 1991, it has become one of Sweden’s most recognized television institutions — blending live music performances, celebrity guests, entertainment, and lottery gaming in front of a nationwide audience. Over the years, the program has featured international artists including David Bowie, Dolly Parton, Elton John, Phil Collins and Robbie Williams.

At its peak, Bingolotto reached an extraordinary 4.5 million viewers weekly in a country of just over 10 million people, making it one of the biggest television successes in Swedish history. The program remains a major cultural event and continues to attract large national audiences, especially during holiday broadcasts.

Produced in collaboration with Folkspel, the show has also generated billions of Swedish kronor for nonprofit sports organizations and community associations across Sweden over the past three decades.

Known for blending Scandinavian storytelling with Nashville-rooted Americana, Thyra & Magnolia Road continue building international momentum through touring, songwriting collaborations, and releases connecting Sweden and the American South.

Their appearance on Bingolotto comes as the band celebrates growing international attention around recent releases including “Witchcraft,” which recently surpassed one million streams globally.

“We love that this show brings together music, tradition, community, and live television in a way that really only Sweden can,” says Karin Thyr Eriksson of the band. “For Swedish artists, Bingolotto is part of the cultural fabric.”

Thyra & Magnolia Road is led by Karin Thyr Eriksson and Göran Eriksson, whose music bridges Americana, country, folk, and cinematic Nordic storytelling — with one foot in Nashville and the other in Sweden.
